Purified Records Announces Ocean Conservation Partnership with Environmental Organization OnlyOne and Photographer Daniel Nicholson

Purified Records has collaborated with the environmental organization OnlyOne and underwater photographer Daniel Nicholson to increase awareness about ocean life.

Purified Records, with the support of Nora En Pure, are releasing their first project with OnlyOne and Daniel Nicholson on the artwork for Dan Sushi’s four-track EP ‘Titanium.’ The EP cover art features a striking image of a hammerhead shark underwater. In the image, the shark swims through the clear blue sea, surrounded by stark contrasts between light and dark. The EP is full of moments of smoothness and intensity in one track, much like the image photographed by Daniel Nicholson.

Dan Sushi, one-half of the electronic music duo Fat Sushi, has released the ‘Titanium’ EP as his debut solo project. The tracks on the EP have the same techno-influenced hard basslines and intensifying structure as a Fat Sushi project. Dan Sushi digs deeper into experimenting with the structure of songs on his solo EP.

On the ‘Titanium’ EP the range of each track switches between smooth patterns and high, intense deep techno dynamic range. The track “Open Your Eyes,” includes atmospheric vocals that propel it into an upbeat techno track full of twists and turns. The highs and lows of the tracks match the energy of the intense mystery in Daniel Nicholson’s cover art.

Daniel Nicholson, one of the most prominent underwater photographers from Australia, has used his passion for underwater photography to bring awareness to conservation efforts. He is hoping that by sharing his images he can also share the beauty of underwater creatures.

OnlyOne platform

Daniel Nicholson’s mission goes hand in hand with OnlyOne. OnlyOne, a planet-focused platform, encourages its people to take action to save our waters and planet. The OnlyOne platform hosts millions of people who want to make a difference. They lead global campaigns for ocean and climate solutions like removing plastic and reducing carbon emissions.

The shark featured in the ‘Titanium’ EP artwork represents its importance in marine life. Sharks have been endangered due to overfishing and finning practices. Hammerhead sharks, like the one featured on the cover, are on the list of endangered species. Daniel Nicholson captured an ideal photo of a single shark fit for a solo project full of thumping bass lines and bold, eerie melodies.
