Kaskade Drops REDUX 006 EP Two Years After Last Installment

World-renowned house producer Kaskade has released the LONG-AWAITED sixth edition of his popular Redux series.

While American producer and DJ Kaskade (Ryan Raddon) has kept busy in 2023 with his Kx5 project with deadmau5, fans hadn’t heard any new solo music from the house icon in nearly a full year coming into October. Raddon has ended that drought this month, dropping two singles and now the full ‘Redux 006’ EP on his label Arkade, the first installment of the Redux series since 2021.

The seven-song EP begins with a very unusual song for Kaskade: a slow, eerie, drum-forward arrangement called “Brighter” featuring Emmit Fenn. This gives way to a number of stripped melodic house tracks that feel right at home in a small dance hall, including “Save Me” featuring Lauren L’aimant, “About Us,” and “Its Gone” featuring Crayskool. “On My Way” concludes the EP with a smooth, hypnotic house tune with an earworm vocal.

Kaskade began the Redux series in 2014 to compile songs that tend to lean closer to the deeper, more underground end of the house spectrum than his biggest hits. Since then, the series has become a fan favorite and even featured some big names such as Felix Cartal and Gorgon City. Redux 003 grew to a full-length album in 2019, but all other installments have been EPs.

Since 2013, Kaskade has also played Redux sets which are meant to have a more intimate feel than his regular headlining sets, harkening back to his early days as a DJ. These sets quickly grew on his fanbase and the EDM scene as a whole and have since been featured at huge festivals like EDC Las Vegas and Coachella. Kaskade is currently halfway through a sold-out four-stop Redux tour with stops in Orange County, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Miami.
