Kasablanca Diagnosed with Cancer and Rushed into Emergency Surgery

Various performances have been canceled as Micky of Kasablanca has been diagnosed with cancer.

Shocking news came from music duo Kasablanca as member Micky was diagnosed with cancer in the final days of the ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ tour. Due to the emergency surgery, Kasablanca was forced to cancel their upcoming performances in Miami and Washington D.C.

In a new Instagram statement, Micky confirms that the surgery was successful, with the doctors reporting that they’re confident the cancer is curable and he will make a full recovery. The DJ also shares photos of him shaving his head and standing in front of modular synthesizers with the fresh buzzcut.

With chemo treatments running into February, Kasablanca will also have to drop out of the Zamna performance in Tulum and Solaris Festival in Bogotá. Once he is in remission, partner Viktor and himself promise they “will be back stronger, louder, and more synthalogic than ever before.”

The duo gives a hopeful note to fans that when Micky is cancer-free, they plan on releasing their debut album as it is currently “very much underway” and “excited to share.” Since forming in 2020, Kasablanca has released various EPs and singles garnering about 500,000 monthly Spotify listeners.

Dedicated to his craft, Micky continued to perform until the doctors ushered in the emergency surgery. Even after learning of his cancer diagnosis in mid-December, the producer is seen giving an electrifying performance for a New Year’s Eve party at the Laroc Club in Brazil in the Instagram video above.

Near the end of their most recent tour, the duo released double singles “Rubicon” and “Silo,” as well as extended mix versions, in an EP titled ‘Crossing The Rubicon’. While new music is on the horizon once Micky fully recovers, you can stream this new EP on all platforms.
