Exchange Los Angeles Suffers Roof Collapse from Rain Mid-Show Leading to Venue Evacuation

LA’s premiere nightclub, Exchange, shuts down due to roof damage by rain before Brennan Heart’s set.

On January 20th, Los Angeles’ very own, Exchange nightclub had a series of interesting events happen. That night, Dutch DJ, Brennan Heart, was scheduled to headline. Alongside him were several openers, including Tyeguys, Lucky Rabbit, and Jayr. Unfortunately, during one of the opening DJ sets, ceiling debris began to fall down onto the dancefloor due to the heavy rain going on throughout the weekend.

Because of this, the event altogether had to stop, resulting in an evacuation. The club quickly put on the large LED screen “EXIT DANCEFLOOR” to tell attendees to safely exit the building since the ceiling could have caved in more. Shortly after, people in attendance began to take videos and photos of the incident and posting it on the internet.

A few days later, Exchange LA issued a statement addressing the incident that occurred last Saturday night, stating, “Last Saturday night, debris from one ceiling tile fell onto the dance floor. As a precautionary measure, the show was stopped immediately, and all attendees were evacuated from the building. Medical staff and the local fire department provided on-site treatment to several fans. Our team is actively investigating the incident to determine its cause and is taking necessary measures to ensure the venue’s safety before reopening. While this work is being performed, we will be rescheduling this weekend’s events, Midnight Tyrannosaurus 1/26 and Time Machine 1/27. If you have purchased tickets to this weekend’s events, please check your inbox regarding rescheduling & refund information. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated during this time.”

The venue expresses its commitment to the safety and well-being of its patrons and is diligently working towards resolving the matter.

Finally, as Exchange continues to resolve its issues, we wish them nothing but the best. It’s unfortunate for a leading nightclub in LA to have to pause operations, but it’s for the better. Don’t hold your breath, because they’ll have people on the dancefloor back in no time.

Be sure to follow Exchange on their socials for future announcements.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
