Bassnectar Fans Discuss New Interactive Game and Live Mix on The Other Side Platform

Digging through the Bassnectar Reddit page revealed talk of an interactive game and brand new live mix shared to the artists’ “The Other Side” members-only website.

The Other Side has been the home of all things Bassnectar since the artist re-emerged this year. It appears a new mix is shared with members each month as part of the Live Mixtape series. The most recent is an offering called “Enjoy The Ride.”

The description reads, “To go along with the rush of a joy ride through various worlds, this month’s mix is a hyper surge of wobbling dubstep classics, heavy deep cuts, and some mystical twists and turns for the race against time with your fellow Unlocked friends.” In addition, members can participate in an interactive, live gaming tournament that goes along with the music.

Fans have mixed feelings about the live gaming experience. One person commented, “I just don’t get the whole gaming tournament thing. Just seems like the most random thing to include” while another chimed in, “It’s just a thing they’re trying out to get people interactive in other ways besides just the music. Healthy competition and fun activities are a way to help people bond after all the craziness and division in the community over the past few years.”

In a separate Reddit post, someone posted a screenshot of a modal from The Other Side called “Your Treasure Box.” It includes photos of four unique chips, including one for the new mix, “Enjoy The Ride.”

Another chip, a $100 merch credit is also visible. In regards to the merch topic, one fan said, “They said merch would be ready in June and the month is almost over :(“. Another replied, “You mean they said they were going to do something and didn’t deliver? First time, eh?”

Bassnectar’s team launched The Other Side earlier this year. According to the website, The Other Side “Unlocked” members get exclusive access to tickets, music, and community (which was called a “brand new interactive sanctuary space”). Unlocked is a paid tier, but there is also a no-cost tier called Freestyle which includes some additional perks for fans.
