Sony Music Entertainment launches Berlin-Based Techno Label noted.records

Sony Music Entertainment has introduced a new record label dedicated to elevating techno artists.

Berlin has a new up-and-comer in the techno scene as Sony Music Entertainment Germany has officially launched techno label, ‘noted.records’. The techno label is a new addition to the thriving techno scene in Berlin that has been consistently growing and has been for the last 30 years. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, an underground techno scene popped up in the city and has since been heavily ingrained in the city’s culture.

The label aims to offer access to a wide network of artists, producers, writers, and resources for global electronic music artists. That goal is sure to be reached with the team Sony has put together to oversee ‘noted.records’. The label’s A&R and strategy are being led by Jean-Sebastien Permal, Sony Music’s Vice president of A&R for Europe and Africa, and marketing and operations are in the hands of Jenny Walzer, Senior Product Manager at Sony’s dance music label NITRON.

‘noted.records’ has proven their dedication to elevating techno talent with the signing of their first artist Anfisa Letyago. Anfisa is one of the most exciting DJ-producers in the current scene and is known for both her energy behind the decks and her talent in the studio. Her highly awaited track, “Feelin”, was released on April 26 via ‘noted.records’ and marks the start of her journey with SME Germany and ‘noted.’ alike.

Jean-Sebastien Permal released a statement about the new venture and the opportunities it will provide in the music industry. “Electronic music as a genre has never been as potent as it is today,” Permal stated. “We recognized the need to provide a home for artists with a strong and unique musical and visual identity. We are thrilled to have Anfisa Letyago as our first signed artist and are incredibly ambitious about her project.”

To add to the authenticity of this venture, Sony has previously helped develop the careers of many electronic music artists on a global scale. ‘noted.records’ signing of Anfisa will just add to the current mass of amazing electronic music artists under Sony’s belt such as multi-platinum awarded electronic producer Purple Disco Machine, the platinum and gold-certified composer Avaion, and French electro legend Jean-Michel Jarre.

Anfisa Letyago herself stated, “I’m thrilled to join Sony Music! It’s an honour to be their debut artist on the newly created ‘noted.’ I cannot wait for what’s to come.” For now, the global and Berlin techno scene are waiting with bated breath to see the next steps ‘noted.records’ takes in their journey.
