Nocturnal Wonderland Celebrates 28th Anniversary as America’s Longest-Running Rave

Created by insomniac, Nocturnal Wonderland continues to innovate the rave experience almost three decades later.

Nocturnal Wonderland returned to the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains this past weekend to celebrate a historic 28 years as America’s longest-running rave. Created by Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella, Nocturnal Wonderland is known to take risks and imagine the impossible.

Nocturnal Wonderland began in 1995 after Pasquale Rotella spent ‘93 and ‘94 organizing Insomniac warehouse parties in the greater Los Angeles area. Since then, Nocturnal Wonderland has evolved into a massive festival with thousands of attendees yearly, scorching headliners, and stellar production. To accommodate their growing success, Nocturnal Wonderland became a two-day event that features four stages with various electronic music genres.

Since Nocturnal Wonderland’s inception in the 90s, the festival has stuck to its old-school rave culture. Now one of Southern California’s only camping events, they centralize oneness and PLUR as their principles. These values represent the cornerstones of rave culture and fuel the positivity coursing through the crowds at these events.

Going to Nocturnal Wonderland for the culture is one thing, but staying for the high production value is another. Nocturnal Wonderland aims to create unforgettable experiences from the stage to the art. They use their relentless creativity to push the envelope of how we experience raves. From the pyromania at the Wolves’ Den to the mind-melting visuals at the Sunken Garden, the Insomniac team will show you something you have never seen.

Staying in line with their boundary-pushing production, Nocturnal Wonderland boasted a heavy lineup of innovators and international staples like Seven Lions, Subtronics, Alison Wonderland, and AC Slater

Being America’s longest-running rave is no easy feat. Nocturnal Wonderland was Insomniac’s first massive event and has been innovating how we experience raves for nearly three decades. With no sign of slowing down, Nocturnal Wonderland stays true to its roots while constantly innovating on its culture of creativity and acceptance.
