Headhunterz Reveals he will “Stop Performing” After Two Decades of Touring

In a video simply captioned, “I am going to stop performing,” Headhunterz spoke from the heart as he explained that he would no longer be touring.

Willem Rebergen, also known as Headhunterz, has had a monumental impact on Hardstyle since he began in 2005. He has been traveling around the world and shaping the way that we know hardstyle since then. The DJ is now taking a step back from performing and fully focusing on creating music.

After looking back at his career, he explained that creating music and performing are two of his passions, but that traveling has taken a toll on his physical and mental health. In the video, Headhunterz said, “I’m bringing you this message with a big smile on my face. I am proud of what I’ve done over the last fifteen years. I’ve realized my dreams as a DJ – performing, touring, traveling the world…”.

He expressed his gratitude for the support of his fans and their understanding in making the decision, later saying, “I will continue to be doing what I love, just in a different form, following my heart.” Hardwell, Oliver Heldens, and more uplifted Headhunterz in the comments. Fans showed him amazing amounts of love, letting him know that this is just the beginning.

Others thanked him for what he has done for the hardstyle scene and wished him the best on future projects. Headhunterz ended the video by saying that he is planning on taking a long break, but is not completely opposed to getting back on stage in the far future.

He will be performing through December and then begin an indefinite hiatus in January.  The video ended with the producer letting listeners know that he was thankful, smiling warmly as he signed off.

Even though Headhunterz will no longer be performing, his dedication to electronic music will continue and his listeners have shared their unwavering support of his decision. There is no doubt that he has impacted hardstyle in a way few have. Watch Headhunterz’s heartfelt announcement here:
