Okeechobee Festival Will Not Return in 2024

Okeechobee Festival has announced a hiatus in 2024 to recalibrate and rekindle the authentic spirit that has defined its legacy.

Okeechobee County commissioners have announced that the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival will not make a return to the county in 2024. Amidst its reputation for an eclectic lineup and lively ambiance, the Insomniac-owned festival is embracing a “fallow year” to realign and rediscover its authentic roots.

Festival watchdog, Festive Owl reported that a deliberate pause is needed to reconnect with its core principles and rejuvenate its essence. They shared, “We are working hard to keep OMF close to its original roots in a big way and reignite the sparks. Those formative years were special to all of us. Hang tight and remember to always Be, Here, Now.”

Conceived by Soundslinger, the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival has established its abode within the expansive embrace of the 800-acre Sunshine Grove. The organizers remain steadfast in their dedication to cherishing the vibrant community that has blossomed since the festival’s inception in 2016. During its first year, there was a varied lineup that included artists such as Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar, Robert Plant, Hall & Oates, The Avett Brothers, and more.

Over the years, the annual music and arts event is known for its diverse lineup of musical performances across various genres, as well as immersive art installations, workshops, and other interactive experiences. The festival aims to create a vibrant and inclusive community for music enthusiasts, artists, and attendees to come together and celebrate creativity and expression. The partnership with Insomniac Events in 2020 marked a shift toward a focus on electronic and dance music in the years after. Rechulski, DJ, producer, and founder of Soundslinger also shared that “Sunshine Grove, Soundslinger cares deeply about the community that it witnessed come together in those first few years of OMF from 2016 onwards.”

As the festival embraces this period of rejuvenation, it is a chance for everyone to reflect, evolve, and ultimately emerge with renewed vigor. We look forward to seeing Okeechobee Festival captivate and inspire once again when it returns to the spotlight.
