Subtronics Drops New Tesseract Album with Major Collaborations from Rezz, Excision + More

Subtronics has dropped his Tesseract full-length album with huge features and collaborations with massive names.

Subtronics has dropped one of the early contenders for the top dubstep albums of the year with his most recent release, ‘Tesseract.’ The 16-track mega album dropped last week and has features from Excision and Rezz to name a few.

Subtronics, aka Jesse Kardon, writes, “Some songs are meant for the dancefloor, some are meant for the car, and some are meant to serenade you to sleep. I am trying as best I can to create a fascinating alternative reality with magic and a sci-fi world of energy and feeling.” In an album full of collaboration, there is a diversity of sounds featured on the album.

Songstress Lykke Li behind the classic song, ‘I Follow Rivers’ lent her talents to the creation of ‘Alien Communication.’ Not only does ‘Alien Communication feature the talent Lykke Li, but Subtronics also teamed up with Rezz on ‘Black Ice,’ Excision on ‘Asteroid’,’ and HOL! on ‘Mind Pluck.’

The tesseract is a geometric shape mostly known in the fourth dimension as a 16-walled cube, Subtronics marries his passion for quantum physics and geometric theory through a journey of space and sound. The goal for this album from Subtronics was to resemble traveling the cosmos.

Subtronics states, “Tesseract is a proper sequel to my first album Fractals and in the same sense, I aimed to demonstrate my range in both style, sound, and emotion.” Both play on the science of light and space.

In cohesion with the 16 tracks on the album, the release kick starts his 16-date US tour which began in Minneapolis on February 16th and will touch down in New York City on March 1st at Barclays Center. Tesseract is available on all streaming platforms including Spotify.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
