Rezz and Subtronics Drop Second Collab ‘Black Ice’ With Full Visualizer

The dark, downtempo techno style of Rezz has joined forces with dubstep sound innovator Subtronics on “Black Ice.”

Following the success of their collaboration on “Puzzle Box,” the “Black Ice” visualizer has the same striking imagery as the live performances of the last collaboration between the two artists. The “Black Ice” visualizer takes the viewer on a wild ride through the intergalactic dream world of Rezz’s and Subtronics’ minds. It is hopefully one of many more collaborations to come between them in 2024.

The slow build of the song is reminiscent of a galactic experience. It is the perfect balancing act between the laid-back mid-tempo flare from Rezz and Subtronics’ high-energy dubstep climaxes. As the song progresses, deep synths intensify, taking the listener to the peak of their journey before bringing them back down to Earth again.

This is the first single from both artists to kick off 2024. The cover art for the single follows the same style as their previous single “Puzzle Box.” it combines elements from each artist into one striking image including Rezz’s signature circular frames and Subtronics’ past use of fractured glass in his cover art.

Subtronics and Rezz are both coming off of highly successful years in 2023. Rezz released the EP ‘It’s Not A Phase’ before selling out Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Brooklyn Mirage. For 2024, Rezz is already set to play at  EDC Mexico, Beyond Wonderland, ILLfest, and Sol Fest this year.

Subtronics traveled across the country on the ANTIFRACTAL Tour in 2023. Earning the title of DJ Mag North America’s “DJ Of The Year,” Subtronics has another massive schedule coming in 2024. The heavy bass DJ will be releasing a brand new album next year and embarking on the Tesseract Tour. He announced the album over the summer last year with fans in anticipating a release date in 2024.

The visualizer begins by taking the viewer on a first-person journey flying through Rezz’s and Subtronics’ world of deep bass and flashing lights. From flying to being immersed in the eye of the storm, the visualizer is jam-packed with 3-dimensional storytelling. Get lost in the futuristic visuals for “Black Ice” below:
