AREA 15 Faces Backlash for Security Measures Taken at HOL! Show

The Security at Area 15 In Las Vegas is being called out for harsh treatment of attendees at Recent Hol! Show.

Allegations for the mistreatment of attendees by security at HOL!’s show at AREA 15 Nightclub in Vegas have arisen on Twitter. Videos from the event have been shared to a thread, exposing the “unnecessary violence” from security.

One of the attendees invited other people who went to the show to share their experience with security at the nightclub. This came to fruition as AREA 15 was caught deleting comments about the security guards assaulting people on Instagram. Apparently, the nightclub has been lying and covering up the incidents that have happened.

Comments began to flood the thread exposing videos and stories of the harsh treatment by security. Some stories include patrons being dragged out of the venue and slammed into exit doors. People say security were aggressively handling people, putting them into chokeholds in the middle of the dance floor, and pinning them down and kneeling on their backs.

One patron said that she was kicked out of the venue for vaping though she saw the security doing it too. Another story shared included how two attendees were kicked out for using a Vicks nasal stick because security thought it was drugs. “They got up in me and my friend’s faces as if they were about to beat us up and didn’t give us a chance to explain that it was fkn nasal congestant.”

Unfortunately, this incident isn’t the first time the security at AREA 15 has mistreated concertgoers. The thread brought in stories of other times people have experienced unnecessary roughness from the staff there.

More narratives came to light including people sharing that the security was extremely physical for no reason and that “they should not be allowed to do shows at this point.” With the exposure of AREA 15’s repetitive mistreatment of patrons from security, we hope to see some change the next time there is a gig at the venue.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
