The world shook when Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix released his debut single ‘Animals’ in 2013. Championing his big room house sound, he has provided dance anthems for generations to come. With a career spanning over a decade, Martin Garrix has become one of music’s most successful acts.

Like many other DJs and producers, Martin Garrix began his career DJing weddings, parties, and other events. By the time 2012 rolled around, he scored a deal with Spinnin’ Records. A year later, at 17, he released his big room house classic, ‘Animals.’

Anonymously, Spinnin’ Records teased Martin Garrix’s ‘Animals’ to increase speculation on the artist behind the song. The song shot to number one on Beatport making him one of the youngest people to ever do so. The success of ‘Animals’ ushered in a new era of dance music, and every electronic music festival, venue, and artist wanted a piece of the magic.

Martin Garrix began playing at international festivals such as Ultra and Tomorrowland. As he rose in fame, he started collaborating with DJs and producers like Hardwell, Dillon Francis, and Afrojack. He continued to build on his previous success with his dance-pop collaborations, ‘In The Name of Love’ with Bebe Rexha, ‘Scared to be Lonely’ with Dua Lipa, and ‘Ocean’ with Khalid.

As a staple in the festival circuit and frequent headliner, Martin Garrix has played many iconic sets and was voted DJ Mag’s DJ of the Year numerous times. He did it three years in a row once. He even garnered some famed residencies in both Ibiza and Las Vegas.

Blowing into the mainstream in 2013, Martin Garrix became one of the youngest and most successful DJs and producers in music at the age of 17. Over a decade later, he has achieved a career many rising DJs and producers strive for. As of 2024, he is still touring the world and has many dates, with many well into the fall of 2024.
