Skrillex Reigns Supreme as Beatport’s Top-Selling Artist of 2023

Skrillex, Dubstep’s reigning living legend has topped Beatport’s top-selling artist list for the year 2023.

Skrillex, the reigning G.O.A.T. of dubstep and 2023 has just been announced as Beatport’s top-selling artist for their 2023 round op. Announced on their EDM’s Instagram, Skrillex took to the top of the charts with a stellar year of music.

Skrillex released two albums this year, “Quest For Fire” and “Don’t Get Too Close,” which both were filled with chart-topping singles. In addition, Skrillex was part of the massive Fred Again.. frenzy of earlier this year, collaborating with both Fred and Four Tet on songs as well as some major shows across the globe. The Pangbourne House Mafia was born.

Skrillex has been in the industry since the early 2010s, he is no stranger to the limelight as well as winning massive awards and the surrounding buzz. He took home his first Grammy Award in 2011 when he was nominated for and won Best New Artist, Music Video, and Dance Recording. Since then, the talented artist has taken home eight Grammy Awards over the last ten-plus years.

Beatport mentioned that the third best-selling track on the platform was also from the famed Pangbourne House Mafia (Skrillex, Fred Again.., and Four Tet), with their massive single, “Baby Again…” Although he remains the top-selling artist, his partner in crime, Fred Again.., is in a close second for best-selling artist of 2023. Coming in with the bronze medal is the tech house superstar, Fisher.

Skrillex first broke into the scene around 2010 when he dropped his famous ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites’ EP. This historic release allowed him to shape the way American dance music fans experienced electronic music, and dubstep, in particular.

After over a decade in the space, it is refreshing to see such an icon continue to dominate the industry while morphing to the times and always having a beautiful evolution of sound that appeals to fans old and new. Check out Skrillex below!
