Sara Landry Makes History as First Hard Techno Artist on Tomorrowland Mainstage

America’s techno priestess Sara Landry has become the first hard techno artist to land a spot at Tomorrowland Mainstage.

Known for her soul-snatching techno sets, Sara Landry marks the first hard techno artist to grace Tomorrowland’s iconic main stage.  Not only is this an honor of epic proportions, but Landry will also do the honors during Tomorrowland’s 20th-anniversary celebration. Tomorrowland will take place from July 19-21 and July 26-28, with its yearly theme aptly reflecting the occasion.

This historic announcement follows the trailblazing footsteps of Charlotte de Witte, who made history in 2022 as the first female DJ and techno artist to close Tomorrowland’s main stage. As Tomorrowland continues its genre-defying tradition, Sara Landry takes her throne as a techno visionary on the greatest of stages.

The anticipation is palpable as Tomorrowland gears up for doors to open, with Sara Landry showcasing her inimitable sound over two spectacular weekends. Tomorrowland’s 20th-anniversary lineup made absolute waves, with a roster so stacked you need a magnifying glass.  Among this year’s ranks are legendary artists such as Swedish House Mafia, Solomun, and John Summit – with Aaron Hibell making his Tomorrowland debut.

Sara Landry has been a rising force in the US with her mastery of out-of-body and divinely feminine industrial techno. Furthermore, the self-taught producer and audio engineer has caught the attention of industry giants such as Adam Beyer and Amelie Lens. Her headlining announcement signifies a momentous shift in the festival’s programming, highlighting hard techno’s growing influence within the industry.

Ultimately, Sara Landry’s mainstage selection represents both a personal triumph and a huge win for the hard techno community. The announcement has sparked conversations about the evolution of Tomorrowland’s lineup, with many nonetheless saddened by Martix Garrix’s absence.

As the excitement builds for Tomorrowland’s 20th anniversary, attendees can look forward to a year of unprecedented performances. In an industry often dominated by traditional genres and male artists, this momentous occasion is undoubtedly something to celebrate. Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
