Monstercat Delivers 40 Tracks for Fitness Program Soundtrack LES MILLS XR DANCE

Fitness company Les Mills has partnered with electronic music label Monstercat for a new virtual reality dance game.

Canadian label Monstercat is no stranger to video game collaborations, having curated soundtracks for Fortnite, Rocket League, Roblox, Beat Saber, Beatstar, and more. To put a bow on 2023, the dance music label has added another game to that list with its most on-the-nose collaboration yet: a dance-themed virtual reality fitness game from New Zealand fitness company Les Mills. Using the Meta Quest headset, LES MILLS XR DANCE immerses players in more than 25 unique dance classes set to Monstercat’s energetic tunes.

The 40-song soundtrack features songs from a wide variety of genres, ranging from pop to latin to jam to bass. Smash hit “LUV U NEED U” by American DJ Slushii, which was featured on Monstercat’s first Rocket League collaboration, will be featured in this game as well. Other selections include “Gold” by English DJ-vocalist duo Koven, and “Keep on Dancing” by American-Chinese DJ duo BEAUZ and Dutch vocalist Heleen.

LES MILLS XR DANCE provides one-on-one instruction from a cast of five superstar instructors including Bianca Ikinofo, who has worked with the likes of Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez. The game has three difficulties and aims to cater to players of all skill levels. Instructor Gandalf Archer Mills says, “This game is for anyone who’s interested in dance and loves to have a great time. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, you’ll get a great cardio workout and an authentic dance experience.”

Monstercat’s sync and partnerships director Gavin Johnson comments, “Dance is a powerful medium when it’s paired with music. It’s an honor for Monstercat music to power that connection within a game that is a staple for Dance in XR [extended reality]. We’re thrilled to continue our longstanding partnership with Les Mills through Dance XR and look forward to bringing energetic, feel-good music to fitness enthusiasts everywhere.”

As Monstercat continues its infiltration of the video game space, LES MILLS XR DANCE feels like the perfect next move. The game is available now on the Meta Quest app store. Check out Monstercat’s Rocket League playlist below to get a sense for the energy they’ll bring to this new soundtrack!
