Exron Music: Your father’s musical background in Italian progressive guitar had a major influence on your creative journey. How do you think your environment shaped the sounds you incorporate into your musical profile?

Camilla: The foundation of my musical odyssey was undeniably laid by my family upbringing. Raised in a home resonating with an eclectic mix of musical genres, I was introduced to a diverse array of styles from the earliest years of my life. My father, a fervent music lover, exposed me to a broad spectrum of sounds, spanning from progressive rock and rhythm & blues to the enchanting melodies of world music.

His varied musical preferences cultivated within me a profound respect for the nuances of different genres and sonic expressions. Surrounded by a supportive circle of family and friends, my passion for music was not just acknowledged but nurtured, serving as a pivotal force in shaping my distinctive artistic identity.

Exron Music: You’ve lived and been involved in the music scenes of various cities, from Turin to New York. How has each location contributed to your diverse musical style and sound?

Camilla: Having delved into diverse music scenes in various cities, I’ve been fortunate to embrace the cultural richness of each location. Specifically, delving into the development of electronic music in these cities is like deciphering a complex musical mosaic woven from a myriad of influences.

Whether it’s the subterranean vibes of iconic metropolises like Berlin and New York, the diverse soundscape of London’s club culture, or the vibrant and evolving music scene in Lisbon, each city has made a distinct contribution to the global electronic music panorama. Exploring the evolution of electronic music in these cities, including my hometown Turin, has deepened my understanding and admiration for the subtle intricacies of diverse subgenres, production methods, and artistic expressions.

Exron Music: Launching a record label is a significant step in any artist’s career. What inspired you to launch your own, and can you give us a glimpse of what we can expect?

Camilla: Establishing my own record label stemmed from a deep-seated aspiration to build a creative haven for artists who resonate with my roots, vision, and fervor for music. The ambition is to bring this collective spirit to the heart of New York. I am dedicated to championing diverse and up-and-coming talent from around the globe, artists whose work embodies innovation and creativity.

My label’s core mission is to foster talents unafraid of defying geographical constraints, sonic norms, and traditional creative boundaries. Our artistic direction is intricately woven around the promotion of music that transcends genres, seamlessly blending elements from diverse cultures and styles, and forging a harmonious union of artistic expression.

Exron Music: Your DJ sets notably oscillate between classic old-school and bass-driven, acid-heavy sounds. What subgenre would you place your music in?

Camilla: While I’m not particularly fond of boxing my music into specific genres, if I were to put it into words, my sound could be best described as a fusion of house and techno. It’s marked by ethereal melodies that traverse cosmic landscapes and grooves that transport listeners into space, all while incorporating elements of acid, breaks, and electro, adding a touch of complexity.

In my sets, you can always expect intricate percussion work and dynamic bass lines, which remain consistent elements. More than just playing tracks, I believe in crafting a sonic journey that not only captures the audience’s attention but also conveys a meaningful message. The aim is to keep the crowd thoroughly engaged, creating an immersive experience that unfolds seamlessly from beginning to end.

Exron Music: What has been the most memorable performance of your career so far, and what made it stand out?

Camilla: When I look back on my journey, a standout moment occurred last summer at Fincadelica in Ibiza. Sharing the stage with incredible artists like Mayell, Sweely, Kenny Jones, and Luigi Sambuy was an unforgettable experience. The vibrant energy of the crowd, the idyllic surroundings, and the effortless rapport with the audience truly set it apart. The ambiance was absolutely electric, and I felt an extraordinary unity with the listeners. This transformative encounter further ignited my fervor for forging deep connections with people through my artistic expression.

Exron Music: From your cosmopolitan upbringing to your diverse tour schedule, you clearly have a knack for travel. Do you have any dream venues or locations you hope to play?

Camilla: When it comes to venues I’ve longed to perform at, places such as London‘s Club Fold, New York’s Public Records, and Stereo in Montreal have always captured my imagination. These venues boast impeccably designed sound systems that I’m eager to witness in person. Moreover, they exude a distinctive energy that deeply resonates with my artistic sensibilities. While there are numerous other venues on my dream list, these three are three that immediately come to mind.

Exron Music: On that note, who would be your top picks to play a back-to-back (B2B) set with?

Camilla: Picking dream B2B partners is a tough choice, but there are a few artists I truly look up to. Ogazón, Loa Szala, and Dr. Rubinstein are among my top choices. Their remarkable technical prowess, profound musical knowledge, and the way they craft immersive journeys for their listeners are awe-inspiring. Collaborating with them would be surreal, as their selections, inventive spirit, and passion resonate seamlessly with my own artistic vision.

Exron Music: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Who are some figures in the industry that you hope to emulate?

Camilla: As I peer into the future, I see a path of continuous artistic growth and exploration, where I strive to push the limits of my creativity. The journey of learning is endless, and I intend to enhance my understanding of sound while honing my production skills. My aspirations extend to collaborating with a myriad of skilled DJs, venturing into uncharted musical territories, and making meaningful contributions to the global electronic music sphere.

Over the next five years, my vision includes expanding my label further, providing a nurturing space for emerging artists, and fostering a vibrant and diverse musical community. My approach in the industry is not to emulate anyone, but rather to draw inspiration from other remarkable artists. My goal is to carve my unique path, leveraging the insights gained therefrom to fuel my own creativity and innovation.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
