Luci Shuts Down Speculation That Her Music is Inspired From Breakup With Rezz

Luci has called out people who keep subjecting her music to be about her breakup with Rezz.

The bass/pop artist explained she is fed up with people still making comments that her music is about the relationship even after 3 years. Luci took to Twitter to explain that she has been in other relationships since, and she enjoys making music about her emotional experiences because it helps her heal.

Luci expressed she hates that this happens to every female artist that writes about breakups. She said this is also due to it being a “famous” relationship, yet people need to move on from it and let it go because the hate that has come along with it is unnecessary. Some are trying to discredit Luci’s music and put Rezz on a pedestal becomes of her huge platform.

A part of the reason her music is so deep and heart-touching is that she deals with depression and is constantly dealing with demons, Luci explained. She added that you never know what someone is going through, and we need to be kinder and more thoughtful with the things we say as people have been pretty cruel to her over the matter.

Luci ended her message that addressed the situation saying she is thankful for everyone that has supported her, and she wants everyone who has to know that she loves them. Along with that, she is excited to be doing both pop and EDM in her new music and newest album that is coming out soon – she hopes you love it.

In the past, Luci was recognized for mostly an experimental dub/ heavy dubstep sound but has recently moved toward pop music. Her new track “Narcissist” demonstrates her first attempts at the new pop sound.

Luci explained the change came following an identity crisis during the pandemic where she felt she was only making dubstep because of the crowd’s reaction. She wants her new sound to showcase a more mature and real sound where she can show off her vocals and songwriting. Luci also recently removed an “i” from her DJ name due to copyright issues.

I remember hearing Edm for the first time and thinking I knew this type of music would change my life. I love all genres and the art that goes behind it all. You can catch me dancing to a wide range of tunes.
