Lucii Shares New Song for Ex-Girlfriend Over a Year After Rezz Breakup

Rising bass music star Lucii posts a teaser for a song that she wrote “awhile ago for an old girlfriend.”

Lucii is no stranger to writing and sharing emotional music that tells her story. Her songs often touch on things like her love life and her mental health. In fact, Lucii opens up often about her battle with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

This time, the artist wrote a song about an unnamed ex-girlfriend. She opened the TikTok with the words, “wrote this for the one that got away.” The song includes lyrics like “I take it all back, I want you to know I’m sorry” and “tell me why I keep coming back when all you do is leave me on read.” Watch the video on Instagram Reels here.

The chorus repeats “I hate the way I miss you” and indicates that she left this ex, sometimes regretting that decision. Lucii writes her own music, sings her own lyrics, and produces her tracks. She often sings on stage during her sets, making performances that connect with her crowds on a deeper level.

Lucii did not specify which ex she’s singing about, but some fans speculated in the comments section of her IG post that the song may be about Rezz. One comment reads, “Imma let this rezzonate thru my speakers.” Lucii and Rezz broke up more than a year ago but after having such a public relationship, some fans are still not over it.

Lucii has not shared plans about when and if she will release this song about her ex-girlfriend. However, fans went crazy for it in the comments calling it “relatable,” with many hoping we’ll get this one from the Wakaan artist soon!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
