Having grown up in Chicago, Illinois, Kaskade sought his education at Brigham Young University where he was able to practice his skills in his dorm room. Following a brief stint at BYU, Kaskade set upon a two-year Mormon Mission where he was placed in Japan. Choosing his stage name from a book, where there was a cascading waterfall, he decided to change the spelling to Kaskade and that is where it all began. Kaskade, a known Mormon was married to his wife, Naomi Raddon, who also happened to be his high school sweetheart! The two have three children together, Mia, Sasha, and Isla. He keeps a lot of his business and social life personal, Naomi also serves as his business manager for all these years.

Having been in the scene since the early 2000s, his first single, ‘What I Say,’ was released in 2001. This was just the precursor to an elaborate catalog of music that spans over 20 years. His most recent single is ‘Brighter,’ a collaboration with Emmit Fenn. Kaskade has also dropped multiple remixes to Christmas carols throughout the years with the second rendition of Kaskade Christmas dropping earlier this year.

Contrary to popular belief, Kaskade does not reside in Utah but is still a devout Mormon. He has been placed on America’s best DJs for 7 years and has twice been listed as the number one DJ in the United States in the years 2011 and 2013, during his Atmosphere era, which took the airwaves by storm. He also has an insanely popular Redux installment that is still in creation today.

Where Kaskade is from is a conglomerate of places from where he was born, where he studied, and how he was able to grow into such a musical mastermind who is still selling out headlining tours today.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.
