What So Not Throws Impromptu Party at ADE with 3 Hours Notice

After a scheduling conflict left him unable to play at ADE, What So Not took over a hallway in a student dorm near Amsterdam Central Station.

A day before Amsterdam Dance Event began, What So Not found out he could not play his slot or make the Monstercat event. He rallied the troops, asking the community if there were any residencies or venues he could play before flying back to Australia.

The artist ended up finding somewhere to perform, curating a once-in-a-lifetime What So Not & Friends pop-up. Fans were given a 3-hour notice to get ready to party. He posted a picture of him and three others with emojis covering their faces right before the full impromptu event details were unveiled.

Videos show a packed room of people jumping and dancing as the DJs throw down. “The world’s smallest DJ booth, the world’s best friends, 3 hours’ notice, and a venue change – the squad rallied and gave me the best ADE send-off,” he wrote.

After all the hard work put in to get What So Not somewhere to play, he figured it was essential for him to premiere “Fever,” a collaboration with Daktyl. The teasers reveal a track combining the producer’s renowned trap and future bass soundscapes with Daktyl’s vocals. That night, What So Not confirmed that he will be officially releasing “Fever” on November 2.

What So Not has been active for over a decade, collaborating with names like EVAN GIIA, Skrillex, and San Holo. His electro-pop sounds have taken over clubs and venues, earned over 1 billion streams, and gotten the artist several gold plaques.

His initial announcement that he could not play ADE was met with disappointment, but this impromptu pop-up turned that around, giving attendees and What So Not another chance to enjoy the event. Clips of the show are being posted all over social media, so be sure to check out What So Not’s official Instagram to get a full glimpse.
