Taylor Swift Taps LP Giobbi for Offical Remix of ‘Cruel Summer’

LP Giobbi drops official remix of Taylor Swift’s ‘Cruel Summer’ in celebration of The Era’s Tour Concert Film.

LP Giobbi recently released her official remix of Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” following the tremendous support by fans to the original track made in 2019. The remix comes in addition to a live version of the song from Taylor’s new movie, Taylor Swift: The Era’s Tour.

For those who don’t know, over the past year, Taylor Swift has been re-recording her entire back catalog in order to regain control of her master recordings. This came in response to Scooter Braun’s purchasing of her former label which enabled him to acquire the rights to her music.

LP Giobbi’s mom turned to Instagram to share her thoughts about the remix with the caption saying, “And suddenly we are Swifites.” Included in her post was a screenshot of Taylor Swift’s Instagram post with LP Giobbi’s name circled after announcing the two songs.

This is the first single that any DJ has officially released for Taylor Swift’s catalog. It’s safe to say that the coming together of LP Giobbi and Taylor Swift has now influenced the crossing of music genres, especially after Taylor officially announced the remix and tagged LP Giobbi on her Instagram post. Following this post, many fans started to comment on LP Giobbi’s official page with positive messages.

The remix has been supported greatly by fans who have expressed approval of the collab saying things like, “Yesss anyone else come from Taylor’s post…the swifties are coming in full force to this page” and “yes yes yes I’m a first timer and loving it.” The support doesn’t stop with just fans, as many DJs have also shown praise for the remix including John Summit, Sofi Tukker and Diplo.

LP Giobbis’s “Cruel Summer” remix is the first release following her album ‘Light Places” which dropped in May, and the deluxe version which was released in late August.
