Forbidden Kingdom Festival Organizer Announces New South Florida Venue

Forbidden Kingdom’s founder Pepe Vargas is at it again, this time bringing an exciting new venue to the streets of South Florida.

South Florida is about to witness a surge in its music and entertainment scene as the mastermind behind Forbidden Kingdom Festival shares thrilling news. Pepe Vargas recently took to Twitter to announce the arrival of a new South Florida venue that will redefine the region’s live music experience. In a series of enthusiastic tweets, Vargas conveyed his excitement and commitment to his new vision, noting, “South Florida, your time has come”.

Moreover, the organizer boasted about a “new venue, more shows, more concerts and outdoor events, more sunset cove events”. Vargas also shared that he was “tired of just having screens on stage”. Thus, the new venue will feature “LED walls in the ceiling and the balconies” – a positively brilliant addition.

Recently, Vargas also shared that the lineup for Forbidden Kingdom 2024 is already underway. For those unfamiliar, Forbidden Kingdom is an Orlando, Florida-based festival dedicated to bass music and dubstep. The festival had its debut in 2019, proving an immediate success for concertgoers seeking an immersive experience of mystical lore.

The festival aims to transport attendees into a whimsical world inspired by ancient legends and mythology. With elaborate stage designs and intricate decorations, Forbidden Kingdom effortlessly toes the line between make-believe and reality. Paired with its whomping bass and other-worldly visual effects, FK has certainly succeeded in creating a community like no other.

Despite COVID-19 closures in 2020, Pepe Vargas seized the opportunity to partner with Insomniac and elevate the festival’s potential. Vargas also owns Apex Presents, an event management group that works with venues such as Hyde Beach and more. Unsurprisingly, Vargas’ announcement further confirms our expectations for more large-scale Miami shows in 2024.

If one thing is abundantly clear, it’s that anything Vargas touches will surely turn to gold. With this new SoFlo venue, Vargas will undoubtedly give locals a unique space to discover cool sounds. For more information about Forbidden Kingdom and Apex Presents, click here and here.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
