Indie-Dance Duo Neil Frances Announce New Album and Drop Lead Single “Standing My Ground”

NEIL FRANCES have released their groovy single, “Standing My Ground,” on Nettwerk with the band’s signature combination of house, hip-hop, and soul.

Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry, also known as NEIL FRANCES, have been creating indie-dance tracks for over five years, combining indie and dance music with funk elements. While their focus is on house, the producers are consistently dropping hits that are fresh takes on 70s and 80s-esque music.

Complete with classic synths and chill vocals, the pair are keeping their discography interesting and true to themselves. “Standing My Ground,” NEIL FRANCES announced that their next album, ‘It’s All A Bit Fuzzy,’ is coming this fall.

Feller touched on their last album, ‘There is no Neil Frances,’ mentioning that despite their debut being highly conceptual, their newest record is more focused on breaking boundaries and creating music that they genuinely love themselves. Feller said, “I was a DJ before I was in a band. For me, it’s always important to feel the audience moving, and I love the energy of a crowd of people getting served by a DJ at that faster tempo.”

He continued, I was like, ‘I want to write a song at that speed for us to play so we can get that feeling from an audience.” “Standing My Ground” does just that, keeping listeners moving with steady drum beats, a prominent bassline, and disco-inspired melodies.

The single is accompanied by a music video, drawing elements from past decades with a box TV playing a lower-quality projection of the video on VHS. It then pans out, revealing the two artists grooving to their funky track in matching outfits.

NEIL FRANCES’ headlining fall tour is kicking off in Denver, followed by twenty more shows in North America. While we wait for their sophomore album to drop on October 6, watch the video for “Standing Your Ground” here:
