Canabliss Touches on the Yearnings of Nostalgia with Entrancing New Single “Saudade” on Wakaan

Canabliss switches it up with a more bass-like sound in her new Track “Saudade.”

“Saudade” was released on Tuesday, July 18 with WAKAAN. The track is said to take us on a whimsical journal yet still incorporating broad freeform basslines. Canabliss intends to steadily remain in a vibrant color-soaked middle ground and is unbothered by those who embrace black and white.

Canabliss replicates this without flaw in “Saudade” as the first half of the song is brimming with smooth synthesizers and fluttering vocal chops. The drop is also said to “stop you in your tracks” type of drop.

In a quote shared with Exron Music, Canabliss explained the meaning of “Saudade.” She said the word Saudade can be translated to a feeling of nostalgia or a deep yearning for a past experience. “Saudade” encapsulates that sentiment by being heavily influenced by Canabliss’s musical inspirations, as well as tying in a modern dubstep twist.

“Sauade” brings you on a musical journey, invoking diverse emotions through its transcendent atmosphere and progressional storyline. Canabliss said that “Saudade” is one of her favorite pieces to date and she hopes you can enjoy it too.

Canabliss leaned into a more bass-forward cadence for “Saudade” following the release of “Soul Call” with SSKWAN in March which is somewhat slower and has more of a softer sound. Although “Soul Call” did keep up with her mystical sound.

Throughout 2023, Canabliss has been on the move. She performed at major festivals including Friendship, ULTRA Miami, Lightning in a Bottle, and Sunset Music Festival. While in 2022, she was epically on tour with Liquid Stranger and REZZ. Make sure to catch her next at Soundcheck in Washington DC on July 26, GRiZMAS in July in Wilmington, NC, on July 29, TK Lounge in Tampa FL, on August 10, and at REV in Minneapolis, MN, on August 18.
