Tripp St. Unveils Dreamy Five Track ‘The Rose EP’ on SSKWAN

SSKWAN is welcoming Tripp St. to the downtempo family with ‘The Rose,’ an EP packed with experimental bass and a new direction for the producer.

Following the release of ‘Gallery of Sound’ on WAKAAN, Tripp St. has moved over to SSKWAN with his five-track EP, ‘The Rose.’ The opening track, “Enlighten,” explores downtempo drops, contrasting with the uptempo tracks that listeners are used to. This theme is carried throughout ‘The Rose,’ in a way that stays true to the inspiration behind the EP.

The focus track, “Envision,” was influenced by the connection between his friends, mentors, and peers at a festival. Beginning with ominous chimes, “Envision” quickly goes into a slower, bass-heavy drop. “Something Like” and “Waddle” call on the producer’s previous works with funky basslines and melodies before ‘The Rose’ ends with “Air.”

”Air” is otherwordly, drawing ‘The Rose’ to a close with combinations of bass and interesting, well throughout melodies. The EP symbolizes strength and breaking boundaries from the music to the title itself.

“The EP title is inspired by one of my personal favorites, Tupac’s poem ‘The Rose That Grew From Concrete.’ It’s something inspirational that holds a lot of meaning to me, and I think about his words a lot when I’m trying to accomplish something, including this EP,” he said.

Despite mysteriously breaking onto the scene just a few years ago, Tripp St. has accomplished an impressive amount of feats. He is bringing bass to Imagine Festival and Submersion later this year, along with supporting Emancipator at the Caverns. Blending audio and visual elements, Tripp St. curates sets that are captivating and interesting.

Tripp St. is climbing to new heights with ‘The Rose,’ capturing his versatility in music and distinct sound. Listen to ‘The Rose EP’ via SSKWAN here:
