Elements Festival 2023: 7 Tips & Essentials Before You Go

Elements Festival 2023 is less than a month around the corner, here’s everything you need to know before you go.

Elements is the northeast’s premiere music camping festival destination. Just a short couple of hours outside of major cities like New York and Philadelphia, patrons are invited to escape their busy routines and let loose in an immersive, healing forest alongside friends, old and new. Not to mention, performances from world-renowned DJs like John Summit, Skrillex, and Porter Robinson

Here are seven important things to consider before heading to Elements Festival 2023:

1. The Location: Long Pond, Pennsylvania

In order to keep the Elements experience so intimate, the festival organizers chose a location off the beaten path. Although the venue, Pocono Raceway draws crowds all year, it’s tucked away to protect the sacred spirit of the Pocono Mountains. Don’t expect to find large grocery stores, shops, or malls in Long Pond, PA. Be sure to pack your camping gear (don’t forget stakes!) and personal essentials.

Other than gas stations and lodging, the only real abundance includes thousands of hiking trails, beautiful bodies of water, fresh air, and a sky full of stars. If your travel plans allow for extra time before or after the weekend, be sure to take time to check out the Poconos and explore the natural spectacle they have to offer.

2. Convenient Prepaid Shower Option

For those who prefer to rinse off the “elements”, the festival has mobile shower stations on-site within the campgrounds available for use throughout the weekend. For camper convenience, Elements is selling weekend-long shower passes for $40 plus fees on their website. We’d recommend buying your shower pass ahead of the festival so you can skip the hassle and get right to the rinse. Find them here in the “Adds On” section.

3. 24-Hour Food Stations

Don’t have the time or energy to pack your meals for the weekend? Don’t sweat it. Elements enlists a multitude of food vendors, taking space in two food courts to feed guests 24/7 throughout the weekend. Your morning latte, midnight snack, and everything in between will be just steps away from the campground and stages. The best part is that the festival focuses on organic and local food vendors, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice health for convenience. In fact, the festival grounds share a space with a solar-powered organic farm, offering an authentic farm-to-table…er, –festival experience.

4 . Vibe Villages: A Brand New Group Camping Experience

For the first time, Elements wants to make it easier to camp with your friends and foster a community with their new group camping experience. Dubbed the Vibe Villages, the group camping area will be divided into three sections based on size of participation.

If you’ve already registered to camp with a group, be sure to connect with your group ahead of time to collaborate on prep (think shared coolers, canopy tents, string lights, tapestries, etc.)

If you’re interested in putting together a group camp, it’s not too late! You have until July 21st and need a group of 10 or more people to make it happen. Note that you must have a regular camping pass for your car or RV in addition to a group camping pass, which costs $25 per vehicle. Learn more here

5. The Zen Den: Recharge and Rejuvenate

Also new to Elements’ 2023 edition is the Zen Den. Picture this: one minute you’re getting down and dirty to the wubs, and the next, you’re pushing your limits in a near-freezing ice bath (or laying face down in a massage station–whatever your idea of “relaxing” is).

In addition to ice baths and massages, the Zen Den will offer sauna sessions to help relax your muscles, improve your blood flow, and fortify your skin health. After a long day or night of moovin’ and groovin’ your body will thank you.

6. Healing Garden: Movement & Meditation Workshops

Spending hours in the crowd with your homies, getting rained on by bass, and shaking your booty is all fun and games, but we all need time to center ourselves. Just because you’re headed to a festival for the weekend, that doesn’t mean you need to leave your mindful practices at home. Elements focuses on balancing fun with wellness by including movement and mediation workshops into the daily festival schedule.

The Healing Garden is “a space dedicated to exploratory wellness” and will include profound grounding experiences like sound baths, yoga, meditations, mushrooms, and foraging. Patrons will have the opportunity to connect with their higher selves, mother nature, and the like-minded souls around them. Even if you don’t know what to expect or how to prepare, just show up with yourself and trust the process.

 7. Respect the Sacred Grounds

The Pocono Mountains hold a rich history of indigenous presence and Native American tribes. Before European colonization, the region was inhabited by several native tribes, including the Lenape, also known as the Delaware Indians. The Lenape lived in harmony with the natural surroundings of the Pocono Mountains, relying on hunting, gathering, and fishing for sustenance.

The tribe had a deep spiritual connection to the land, practicing animism and engaging in communal rituals and ceremonies. The arrival of European settlers disrupted the native way of life, leading to forced relocations and cultural assimilation. However, the legacy of the Lenape and other native tribes remains a significant part of the Pocono Mountains’ history and culture.

When visiting Elements Festival, remember that the grounds are sacred and deserve the utmost respect. Be kind and leave no trace!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
