Exron Exclusive Interview: Seth N’ Sound

With a busy rest of 2023 ahead of him, producer Seth n’ Sound sat down with Exron Music for an exclusive interview.

Following the release of his debut single “Far Away”, the renowned ghost producer Seth n’ Sound comes back with a new track called “Give In” that features vocals from LA-based artist SAAHAS. Keeping in track with his origins as a mastermind behind ghost production and sound engineering, Seth assumes multifaceted roles in this project as the producer, mixer, lyricist, topliner, and vocal engineer. With the unveiling of “Give In”, Seth embarks on a new chapter in his artistic journey, fearlessly exploring uncharted sonic territories. Get to know more about Seth n’ Sound in an exclusive interview below.

Exron Music: Who is Seth n’ Sound and what are you hoping to accomplish with this new project?

Seth n’ Sound is a musician that had the “American Dream” of moving to the US and breaking into the music industry at just 10 years old. My goal is to make people connect to my music and feel the same way I felt when I was 10.

Exron Music: How did you first get into making music and who are some of your influences?

I come from a very musical family; my dad is pretty much a music encyclopedia and my mom has been a fan of electronic music since the late 90s. Metallica was the band that made me want to pick up my first instrument, John Mayer made me realize I wanted to write my own songs and Madeon made me want to make dance music.

Exron Music: You worked with Nathi to produce your debut single “Far Away” – why did you choose this single to launch the project?

“Far Away” is a song that showcases most aspects of my production and style. The pop chorus, funk bassline, and synth solo were a great way to say “Hey, this is me!”

Exron Music: Your new single “Give In” also includes a vocalist from LA named SAAHAS – why do you think it’s important to create music with other artists sometimes?

Writing lyrics with a partner is so much more fun! The back and forth of ideas and those magic moments of completing each other’s lines can really increase the content depth in a song.

Exron Music: Are there any messages you are hoping to convey with your new single “Give In”?

Stop playing games and go talk to whomever you are in love with. You might be incredibly surprised or you can be given the chance to move on.

Exron Music: How would you describe your signature sound in a few words?

Catchy topline on a modern funk beat with classic 80s synths and most likely some slap bass!

Exron Music: What would be a dream venue you would like to perform in one day?

The venue would be the old Staples Center in LA, now called Crypto.com Arena. I remember watching the Grammys as a kid in South America and dreaming of being there one day.

Exron Music: What are your passions outside of music and how do these support your creative flow?

Comedy and BBQ! Comedy stimulates the creative part of my brain with something casual that I have no interest in pursuing professionally and BBQ has nothing to do with art and it really relaxes me after a long day of producing.

Exron Music: How did you overcome any fears or insecurities about starting your own solo project?

I’ve been working in the music industry for years as a ghost producer, mixing engineer, and mentor. I felt like there was no reason for me to release music until I was able to make something that I loved and was as proud of as the music of the people I’ve always looked up to. I finally have that music.

Exron Music: What do you have planned for the rest of 2023?

One new song every month, a lot of content for social media, some live sets to be released on YouTube and a few dad jokes here and there!

Thanks to Seth n’ Sound for sitting down and discussing his new music with us at Exron Music. If you’d like to listen to his new song, it’s available for streaming on all platforms. Make sure you stay connected with him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
