a.k.a. skips Formerly Known As Ducky Launches New Project with Single “F.T.N.U.”

a.k.a. skips returns to the dance music scene with new heavier techno single, “F.T.N.U.”

After retiring his last project, Ducky, and privately beginning his transition, a.k.a skips is debuting his first single, “F.T.N.U.” Standing for “F**k The Night Up,” a.k.a. skips is bringing back a 90s-inspired, underground rave sound. By creating something carefree and less bound to rules, a.k.a. skips is kicking his next phase off strong.

“I’m trying to recreate the feeling I had at 13 when my friend’s mom dropped us off at an unpermitted rave under an overpass in San Francisco. No pressure, no rules, maybe a little nostalgia now that I’m an adult, but music that’s really just meant for you to lose it to. Let go and dance!” a.k.a. skips said about the inspiration behind the track.

The vision he has for the song was undoubtedly met with its immediate start, simple, contagious hi-hats and kick drums as vocals fill up the space. Reminiscent of early 2000s techno, “F.T.N.U.” is a solid introduction to him as an artist and his new, grungier style.

Born in San Fransisco and based in Los Angeles, a.k.a. skips takes a fresh approach to techno with pulsating beats. The single is more aggressive than past releases while keeping it danceable and perfect for underground or club settings.

The Bay Area native is promoting a community of inclusiveness with free-feeling music and unwavering strength in who he is. He has collaborated with artists like Jauz and MUST DIE!, along with dropping tracks on labels like Deadbeats and Astralwerks

On top of beginning a new era, a.k.a. skips is showing his paintings in galleries, tattooing, and getting ready to publish a photo book that will appear at the LA Art Fair this summer. “F.T.N.U.” is a fresh track and paired with all of his other accomplishments, marks a huge stride in his career.
