DJ Pickle Offers Fresh Take on Soulja Boy’s Iconic “Crank That”

The illusive yet sought-after dance music sensation Pickle surprises fans with a new rework of “Crank That” by Soulja Boy.

Pickle has become known for his infectious DJ sets, trendy remixes, and mysterious costume. But who is DJ Pickle? Is he just some guy dressed like a Pickle, or is he an artist we’re already familiar with? For now, Pickle remains masked, but his music is becoming more popular than ever.

Lately, Pickle has been rinsing a vibrant remix of Soulja Boy’s 2007 hit “Crank That” in his sets. Imagine how wild the crowd goes to one of the biggest hits of the 2000s getting pickled from a whole new approach. The rework was so well received that Pickle finally put it on streaming platforms for fans to enjoy at home.

Soulja Boy’s upbeat vocals and mesmeric steel drum are layered with a more modern electronic sound. With that, this fresh take on a classic holds to the original melody while incorporating heavy bass chords and a 90s-inspired house groove.

Not to mention, DJ Pickle’s “Crank That” remix has been widely supported by many of his DJ peers. It’s truly become a dance floor knockout that set a proper tone for music in 2023.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
