Is Joel Corry the Producer Behind Pickle DJ?

Joel Corry has become the latest DJ to spark speculation that he may be the one behind the viral Pickle project.

Since the mysterious masked DJ Pickle burst onto the scene back in 2019, dance music fans everywhere have speculated about their true identity. Fans and DJs alike have thrown out names like John Summit and Dillon Francis as guesses for the man behind the chrome pickle mask. Now, a new challenger has emerged: English house music DJ Joel Corry.

Joel Corry has posted on Instagram telling fans “word’s out… I’m Pickle,” complete with a picture of Pickle’s iconic chrome helmet atop the ripped muscular torso that Joel is well known for. The post also reveals that “Stay Together (Baby Baby),” a new single that Pickle has been teasing in his sets, drops this Friday, April 19th. A video of Pickle playing the track out to a packed festival crowd completes the post.

While it’s already sparked a frenzy in the dance music community, it appears that this blockbuster reveal from Joel Corry is more likely just a funny rollout for the new track. A close inspection of the photo in question shows that it seems to be photoshopped, and Pickle’s comment on the post (“BRUH HAHAHHAHAHAHA”) all but confirms that the reveal is merely a joke. Joel replied to this comment to dub himself a “shredded pickle.”

Even if this isn’t a true Scooby-Doo moment of revealing the man behind the mask, the announcement of a collab track from Joel Corry and Pickle is huge news in itself. For all the big-name DJs that Pickle has been pictured with over the past several years (Diplo, deadmau5, Hardwell, Fisher), nearly all his releases up to this point have been solo. This release with Joel Corry will join 2023’s “Drum Machine” with Alok and last month’s “Runny Nose” with ACRAZE and NKY as Pickle’s only collaborations in his career so far.
