Fans Debate Sullivan King’s Silence Regarding Scientology Affiliation

Sullivan King’s unconfirmed affiliation with the Church of Scientology leaves people asking questions.

In early December a Reddit thread first sparked conversation on the discovery of Keaton Prescott and his family’s involvement with Scientology. Many of you have probably heard of the religion come up in the media throughout the years as there are several celebrities who are Scientologists. However, the religion itself is harshly criticized for their beliefs and practices.

Since the original Reddit thread appeared, Sullivan King has yet to make any comment or denounce his involvement with Scientology. However, if Prescott were to make a statement solidifying his separation from the Church, he would be disconnected from communication with his family who remain.

Sullivan King’s silence has left people curious and questioning their fan loyalty. On December 20th @rainbowlights_ tweeted, “I can’t stop thinking about the Sullivan King Scientology s**t.. it’s so wild to me no one is f*****g talking about it!”

She continues on noting, “To each their own, but I personally care about what the djs I “support” are doing with their lives behind the scenes. If you don’t, that’s cool too, you do you. I wanted to share because as a big fan of his I would want to know.” Her reaction begs the question, should we stop supporting artists because of their religious beliefs?

Other people have opposing opinions finding it unusual that Sullivan King should be cancelled for being a Scientologist if he isn’t hurting others. @PizzaSanta tweeted, “Is he a bad person? Does he harm other people? Is he doing anything horrible? If not, continue to like and support him like you did before or simply move along. Someone’s religious background isn’t a conviction for being a bad person.”

On the same side of this argument, fans question what action should come now that this information is brought to light? @NathanHasProbs asks, “I don’t understand what there’s to talk about. Are we supposed to protest, boycott? What about the hundreds of other celebrities/musicians/influencers who identify with Scientology?”

It seems unlikely Sullivan King will comment on this matter. In comparison to the ongoing sexual assault cases like Bassnectar and Datsik, it is doubtful that his religious background will garner enough support to ‘cancel’ his music career.
