DANCEFESTOPIA POSTPONES FESTIVAL UNTIL 2021; FOLLOWS WITH LINEUP

Dancefestopia is a Midwest staple for electronic music. Since 2011, the festival has been held yearly outside of Kansas City, Missouri. It normally takes place early on in the summer, but had initially been postponed to September this year due to the pandemic. However, with no signs of the condition in the U.S. improving, Dancefestopia was inevitably postponed until next year.

Now scheduled for September 9-12, 2021 Dancefestopia hopes to come back better than ever. The following statement was shared to their social media accounts, “Dancefestopia was going to be one for the books,” they wrote. “We invested a significant amount of resources in an improved forest camping experience, dramatically enhanced production and a renewed emphasis on the smallest of details- all for YOU. These investments are not lost, in fact they will be amplified by an additional year’s worth of time to even further improve your experience. Our return to the Emerald City in 2021 will be incredible.”

Dancefestopia continued to sell tickets over the summer, which allowed some to have faith in its 2020 plans. However, headliners such as G Jones and Lane 8 decided to pull their names from the lineup, and it only became a matter of time before fans shared the same doubts.

Fortunately for ticket holders, Dancefestopia will be offering refunds between the window of July 23 and August 13. Anyone needing a refund will need to request it during that time period. For anyone who doesn’t request a refund their ticket will be honored for the 2020 event. They will also automatically be admitted to the DFT Loyalty Program, which offers benefits and perks for attendees.

In order to keep the positive momentum, the festival released a 2021 lineup poster. With names like Zeds Dead, 12th Planet, Rezz, and G Jones, fans may be more likely to hold onto those tickets. There’s no room for negative energy with this lineup to look forward to—even if it’s an entire year down the road.
