SAN HOLO RETURNS WITH EMOTIONAL SINGLE “HONEST” – [LISTEN]

“Honest” featuring Broods marks the first release by San Holo in 2020. Out now on bitbird, this track represents the raw passion that is often felt with making human connection. It’s also accompanied by a captivating music video that represents the song’s fun and gentle nature.

The Dutch DJ and producer enlisted the soulful sibling duo Broods to provide vocals. As “Honest” leads in, the lyrics immediately touch on ideas of love, trust, and sincerity. The emotion behind the words is driven by a sensational melody, something we’ve come to expect from San Holo through the years. He’s very straightforward with his message, which is something that keeps his audience connected to him and his work on a deeper level.

The story San Holo tells through “Honest” is hinted at by the title. It’s all about being direct with your intentions when it comes to love. As long as honesty is put into practice, the rest will come naturally. We commend him for the vulnerability on this one, as it can be difficult even for large-scale producers.

In addition, “Honest” is paired with an eccentric music video. Directed by Mason Thorne, it features both San Holo and Brood’s Georgia Nott. The two are seen dancing through a hyperreal, colorful setting. The visual aspect really highlights the dreamlike atmosphere created by the song.
