HI-LO Teases New Collaboration with John Summit

Oliver Heldens has hinted at a forthcoming track from his techno alias, HI-LO, and house superstar John Summit.

Since launching his HI-LO techno alias way back in 2015, Oliver Heldens has released a chain of high-profile collaborations with the project. Bangers with Reinier Zonneveld, Eli Brown, Layton Giordanni, Space 92, Danny Avila, and more have blessed the ears of HI-LO fans over the years, and another with Armin Van Buuren seems to be on the way as well. The next artist he collabs with, though, may result in his craziest track yet: the one and only John Summit.

Oliver has posted on his HI-LO account on X showing fans a text from John following one of his recent shows. John says that a song, the name of which is covered up by eye emojis, “went tf offff tonight,” and Oliver confirms that “something new is coming.” Fans who were lucky enough to be at that recent John Summit show may have been the very first to hear this ID from him and HI-LO.

The similar but distinct styles of these two producers make the prospect of a collaboration fascinating. The melodic, pop-adjacent tracks of Oliver Heldens’ primary house alias are easier to imagine mixing with Summit’s tunes than the deeper, darker techno style of HI-LO, but the latter may have the potential to be even more special. Whatever the two have in store for fans, Summit seems to have already run it by at least one focus group and seen it pass with flying colors.

HI-LO has already established himself as one of techno’s most dynamic and interesting players, and a release with John Summit would only skyrocket his profile further in the scene. Summit’s brazen personality and creativity behind the decks have made him one of the hottest names in house music, and it would be a treat to see him begin to dabble in techno as well.

As we play the waiting game for this collab, check out the most recent releases from both parties below!
