John Summit Visits FIU Classroom as Guest Speaker

John Summit has traveled to Floria International University as a guest lecturer for the David Grutman Experience.

Florida International University professor, David Grutman is known for getting some of the largest names of today to join his class for an opportunity as a guest speaker. Most recently, he has been able to get the top DJ and producer of today to join his class, John Summit also known as John Schuester.

Last week, John Summit spoke in front of 450 students at Florida International University at the David Grutman Experience. David Grutman is a well-known entrepreneur, nightlife legend, and restaurateur. He is best known for his work in the hospitality industry in Miami, Florida.

As the CEO of Groot Hospitality, Grutman is behind the success of LIV at the Fontainebleau Hotel, Story Nightclub, Komodo Restaurant, and Swan & Bar Bevy all within Miami Beach. Grutman’s venues are often frequented by A and B-list celebrities allowing him to cultivate relationships with influential people in the entertainment industry.

Grutman’s ability to connect and host these celebrities allows him to make his lectures at Florida International University top-notch with guest speakers people would pay top dollar to see at a show! Most recently, hosting the tech house legend and label owner, John Summit.

John Summit is somewhat of an entrepreneur himself, graduating with a degree in Accounting and later leaving that career to begin his music venture which has led to headlining festivals and massive shows, insane releases, and his label, Experts Only. As somewhat of a self-made icon in the scene, he was the perfect fit for the type of speaker that David Grutman brings into his classroom.

In past events, David Grutman has brought in other big names aside from just John Summit, Grutman also hosted Serena Williams at this same event. Last month he hosted Alix Earle (fellow Miami big wig and one-time rumored John Summit girlfriend), and the Puerto Rican pop super-star, Bad Bunny. John was one of the first EDM industry speakers, it is exciting to see who from the scene may speak next.

Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate – there is beauty in all genres (minus country).

You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.
