John Summit’s New Imprint Experts Only Hits Beatport #1 with First Release

Following its much-anticipated re-brand to Experts Only, John Summit’s new label starts off with a bang as its first single hits Beatport #1.

Earlier this month, John Summit finally shared publicly the result of his label’s makeover – now known as Experts Only. Shortly before the re-brand, Summit released his single “Fade Out” featuring MKLA as a poetic farewell to Off The Grid. Clearly, that’s the only fading out that Summit will do, as the new label’s first release immediately hit the top of Beatport’s charts.

Despite its recent release, this newest single “Losing Control” by Odd Mob and OMNOM certainly no stranger to Summit’s arsenal. The track is easily identifiable by its punchy gritty sequence and vocal overlay stating “I think I’m losing control.” Interwoven throughout most if not all of his recent sets, there’s no way you’ll forget this catchy beat once you’ve heard it.

Fans and artists alike flooded the comments to congratulate the label on its first banger. Summit’s manager Parker Cohen wrote “#1 in our hearts too 😩.” Furthermore, the ultra-talented DJ/producer Cassian left crown emojis in the comments tagging the duo – undoubtedly quite the compliment.

As of now Experts Only only has one event on the books, at Frost Amphitheater in California on November 3rd. With his first stadium event at BMO in L.A. on December 16, and more events bound to come, make sure you stay alert for future announcements. Furthermore, adding to the list his new event series Everything Always with DJ and friend Dom Dolla, John Summit seems to be unstoppable.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
