Music Industry Remembers DJ Fronter After Shock Death at Age 32

‘DJ Fronter’ died after an alleged Fentanyl overdose.

Colombian artist Jhonatan Andrés Pai Morales, widely recognized as DJ Fronter, passed away at 32 in the United States. The artist’s death has been confirmed by several close associates, although the cause of death remains undisclosed. According to ‘La Voz de Honduras,’ there are suggestions that the demise might be linked to a fentanyl overdose. Fentanyl has resulted in numerous fatalities in the U.S. since it hit the market in the nineties.

Fellow friend and peer of Fronter, Jamie Jones, took to Instram to pay respect to his late friend. He wrote “I was so sad to hear that DJ Fronter passed a few days ago. He was doing everything right with his music, making killer tunes and from the times we met was a lovely person who I felt had a very good energy. Rest in peace Hermano.” Several other DJs have released statements to honor and pay homage to their late friend.

Born on June 20, 1991, in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, Jhonatan Andres emerged as a prominent figure in the South American tech-house scene. Commencing his production journey in 2008, Andres has contributed to over 50 international labels. These include Stereo Productions, Toolroom, 1605 Music Therapy, and Mindshake Records.

Marked by tribal and Latin percussion, his releases garnered support from electronic music luminaries such as Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Chus & Ceballos, Technasia, Mattias Tanzmann, DJ Sneak, and Umek. Notably, DJ Fronter was scheduled to perform alongside Paco Osuna in Mexico City this weekend. This comes after impressive appearances at venues such as Amnesia Ibiza, Club Space Miami, E1, and Bali’s Red Ruby earlier this year.

Lastly, a service is in place for Jhonatan Andrés Pai Morales on Tuesday, November 21, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. You can find additional details on Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home’s website .

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
