Top Ten Moments of Insomniac’s New Cruise Festival EDSea

EDSea has concluded the festival’s inaugural voyage of the 4-day festival sail on the Caribbean Sea, and here are the top moments.

EDSea, Electric Daisy Carnival‘s first cruise-based festival has set sail and returned marking the inaugural trip and festival complete. Filled with 4 days of dancing, music, activities, and partying the first year of the festival went off without a hitch and attendees raved online about the experience.

Insomniac, Vibee, and Sixthman took over a sold-out Norwegian cruise ship from November 4-8th where festival goers were able to experience a fully immersive festival at sea with over thirty artists taking over 8 stages. Here are the top moments (in no particular order)!

10.

A surprise appearance from DJ Minx, kicked off the day before the ship left harbor. At this same show, the DJ, It’s Murph put his euphoric melodies and gritty baselines on blast for those arriving at the ship early.

9.

As if one surprise appearance wasn’t enough, Galantis surprised all with a house music set and on the same night, festival-goers were shook once again by a thrilling Noizu b2b Westend at the Nassau stage. This same night there was a Junkanoo celebration filled with vibrancy and rhythm setting the pace for a fun-filled voyage.

8.

EDM love birds, Kayzo and Cray, stunned the crowd with a surprise B2B, the first of its kind! Not only did the attendees see this history-making B2B, but they were also introduced to DJ Snakes’ love of hip-hop AND a Benny Benassi disco set. Talk about satisfaction.

7.

Basshead and Drum and Bass fans alike were mesmerized by a Slander B2B Dimension set. Here attendees were able to see a different side of the duo that is Slander and watch them stick their toes in the water of Drum and Bass. Men overboard!

6.

Full immersion! As all artists were staying on the boat, many fans were able to mix and mingle with their favorite DJs and Producers. Either catching them on the decks or on the actual deck after their sets. Artists were able to let loose and vibe along with the crowd.

5.

Themes took over the ship. Beyond just your regular vibrant and creative festival attire, EDSea debuted on multiple themed events and shows. Some of the crowd favorites were ‘Electric Disco Fever,’ ‘Baewatch’ (looking at you Kayzo and Cray), and ‘Pajama Jam.’

4.

Inclusivity! Raves are inclusive as it is in a raver’s blood bestowed upon them with an oath of peace, love, unity, and respect. There was an LGBTIA+-focused meet-up on the ship where all were able to find their fellow tribe.

3.

Creativity was enlightened with ‘Tailor your Sailor,’ an activity-based event where passengers could upgrade their already vivacious wardrobe with extra glitter, shimmer, and style. A raver’s dream come true.

2.

For a cool down after raving all day and night, passengers were able to chill out with yoga sessions, sound baths, and good old-fashioned fun EDSea called, ‘Rave Bingo.’ During this festival-goes could put their music skills to the test.

1.

Lifetime memories. Over the course of 4 short days, those who attended EDSea were able to make memories, new friends, be introduced to new artists, and experience a wonderland of music. EDSea was such a success, the second annual voyage has already been announced for next year!

EDSea 2024 will take place next November and payment plans for next year’s event are already available online – check it out!

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
