Israeli ‘Electronic Music Community’ Release Compilation to Raise Money for Victims of Supernova Massacre

In the wake of the Oct 7th attack at supernova music festival in israel, organizers have set up a way to support the victims and survivors

The world of electronic dance music has often been a place where people could escape and find solace. The rave scene was founded on the principles of peace, love, unity, and respect, but in recent times, unity has taken on a deeper, more poignant meaning. Following the devastating events at the Supernova Music Festival, the EDM community, has rallied together in an impressive display of solidarity for the innocent whose lives had been affected.

The grassroots organization, Electronic Music Community, which includes producers, promoters, and music professionals, has swiftly come to the forefront of this initiative. Recognizing the power of music to heal, inspire, and raise awareness, the group has curated a breathtaking compilation of over 50 tracks, aptly titled #BringThemBack. Furthermore, all proceeds will be donated to critically aid hostages, survivors of the event, and their families.

The compilation will feature a multitude of genres, ranging from trance, to melodic house as well as contributions from a wide variety of famous artists. Some notable names on the 50+ tracks include Infected Mushroom, Vini Vici, and Ace Ventura. The artists range across the board ensuring that any EDM can resonate with the music in this compilation.

The immediate aftermath of the attack saw the Supernova community, led by the Tribe of Nova, take proactive steps to provide solace and support. A rehabilitation center, equipped with wellness activities was set up to cater to the survivors. The organizers, Tribe of Nova, issued a statement following the attack exemplifying the unwavering spirit of the rave community:

“We understand that of course our role as a tribe and as a community has intensified x1000, but the essence and reason for our existence have not changed that much.

We will continue to dance, to consecrate music, to spread light and love, to embody the pure light in the midst of all the darkness, and to march proudly and determinedly and with total dedication towards justice.

We continue to work non-stop so that the good will always prevail and the light will always win. So it was and so it will be forever.”

-Tribe of Nova

Although comprised of Israeli artists and music industry professionals, the organization is NOT politically affiliated. Their main goal is to help raise awareness and support the hostage taken during the festival. Currently the ongoing support is meant for the families of the attendees as well as their staff.

The global EDM community and music enthusiasts worldwide can extend their support by purchasing the compilation on Bandcamp, donating through Giveback, or even buying specially designed T-shirts. With the scars of the tragedy still fresh and the road to recovery long, plans for another volume of the #BringThemBack compilation are already underway. Edward Fang has been an avid raver since the early 2010s. While he started off with the bass-heavy genre of Dubstep (Excision was his very first EDM concert!), Ed has love for all types of EDM and believes there's an EDM subgenre for everyone. His current favorite artists include: Porter Robinson, Odesza, ISOxo, and Fred Again.., but he is always looking to discover new artists!
