TVBOO Donates to LGBTQ+ Community and “Self-Reflects” in New Podcast

TVBOO is making amends to the LGBTQ+ folks after offensive comments by self-reflecting and donating to the community.

TVBOO is taking steps towards self-improvement after indulging in some time off to do some self-reflection due to the offensive comments he made towards the LGBTQ+ community.

He received backlash in late July for making comments on his podcast “TVLKS with TVBOO” that were perceived as “racist” and “transphobic” by some. TVBOO issued a public apology in light of the comments he made towards the LGBTQ+ community, and is now taking strides to show his support.

TVBOO took to Twitter to share a clip of his podcast, where he invited an employee from The Center on Colfax – a center for people in the LGBTQ+ community to feel safe and welcomed in Dever, Colorado.

In the post, he shared that after he received backlash from the comments he made, TVBOO took some time away for self-reflection. He spent time educating himself and doing outreach to learn more about how he can help.

He invited on the podcast Viet, who works at The Center on Colfax and is the manager of the young adults program. During the episode, the two talk about what resources the community offers, toxic masculinity, the hardships the LGBTQ+ community and people of color go through, racism, and accountability.

TVBOO also highlights that the two talked about what it really means to create a more inclusive community, and how he can play a role in that. TVBOO encourages his fans to make a donation as well. He will match all the donations made by his fans who donate using this link, as well as making a base donation.

He ended his post with instructions on how to donate, a link to the full episode, and said “this may have been the first step, but it won’t be the last.”

If you have two hours, we encourage you to check out the episode below to learn more about how you can help be an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. Again, here is the link to donate to The Center on Colfax.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
