Watch The Chainsmokers Throw a Living Room Concert Series Following Tiny Desk Rejection

The Chainsmokers Have revealed that the duo’s request to perform on the concert series Tiny Desk was Ignored, igniting them to record their own series.

The Chainsmokers have released videos on their social media performing acoustic versions of some of their latest tunes in their living room following rejection from the Tiny Desk Concert Series. Apparently, they had emailed the popular concert series to perform on their platform, but their email requests were ignored and rejected.

To this day, the GRAMMY-award-winning musicians have yet to hear back from the Tiny Desk team after sending requests to be featured on the show. But this didn’t stop the dynamic duo from showcasing their artistic endeavors to their fans. The duo took matters into their own hands and created their own version of the intimate series.

In the series of videos released by the Chainsmokers, members Drew Taggart and Alex Pall are seen gathered in their living room with friends performing live versions of some of their newest songs. After posting the video, fans flooded the comments with positive messages and praise. The video got so much attention that the group ended up releasing official audio for fans to listen to. The stripped-down, acoustic performance emulates the same type of performance that would be featured in the Tiny Desk series, and fans are now eager for an official “living room” series by The Chainsmokers to come to fruition.

The first and only EDM artist who has been featured on the Tiny Desk series is Fred Again… who has been dominating the EDM community this past year. Much like the videos posted by The Chainsmokers, Fred Again..’s performance featured live vocals and multiple instrumental performances.

When comparing the performance made by The Chainsmokers in their living room and the mold for Tiny Desk performances, The Chainsmokers have proved that they could be an excellent fit for the series. Their ability to strip down their music and perform it acoustically is essential to the format that other artists have used in the series.

Although there has been no official response from Tiny Desk after these snippets were released, it has been a new and exciting way for fans to see what The Chainsmokers have in store in terms of new projects. Watch the video below for another rendition of their phenomenal living room concert!
