Exron Exclusive Interview: Chloé Caillet

The Exron Team caught up with Chloé Caillet after her New York Fashion Week show at The Glasshouse in Hells Kitchen, NYC.

Chloé Caillet, the NYC-born and French-raised house music guru sat down with Exron Music following her incredible performance at the Hells Kitchen venue, The Glasshouse during New York Fashion Week earlier this month. A world-class traveler, Chloé told all about her upbringing between France and NYC, as well as her upcoming music goals.

Chloé put on a stellar show but also gave us insight into her life growing up in NYC and France, and her musical inspiration as a kid, Daft Punk. She said that Daft Punk shaped a lot of her musical tastes growing up. While she was splitting her time between NYC and Paris, they were transcending the music scene from Europe to the States.

Seeking inspiration from the French groove and the French house genres, she has found it fun to mix in different styles of house music from different corners of the globe. She mentions Mochakk, who took the stage after Chloé, who takes influence from the Brazillian house scene and marries that with his signature sound.

With aspirations to play in Japan, Chloé exclaims that Tokyo is her dream location to perform. She loves everything about the fashion, the culture, and the records that come out of the country. In her carry-on would be a “crazy amount of supplements,” which are so necessary for her life on tour. In addition, she packs hard drives, skin care (obviously), headphones, and a fresh pair of kicks. Chloe Caillet stans Nike, you heard it hear first.

She’s been traveling the globe from Ibiza to Burning Man, where she was able to let loose, hang with her friends, and focus on her enjoyment and the creation of new memories. She limited herself to only two sets so the experience wasn’t all about work, it was magic. Her fave set was impromptu on a dusty set of decks where she dropped almost all 80s hits. She even had Channing Tatum grooving, with a few Magic Mike moves.

Hey! I'm Shiv! Music is the greatest part of my life, I remember discovering dubstep when I was 15/16 and my entire life was altered - robot noises?? I needed MORE! Now, I live in NYC and have seen over 60 artists of all genres; my favorites being Odesza, Subtronics, Rezz, Griz, Zeds Dead, John Summit and Kaskade. I am an enjoyer of music and will try everything once, I do not discriminate - there is beauty in all genres (minus country). You can usually find me in a warehouse at 4AM because I am nocturnal and will quite literally never say no to a show.

What's your reaction?
