Mikrodot Releases Heavy Dubstep EP ‘Are U Mad’

Teaming up with DUPLOC for the second time, Mikrodot is dropping ‘Are U Mad,’ his four-track EP filled with deep, wonky bass and a simplistic take on dubstep.

Mikrodot, has released his second EP of 2023 on BLXCK TAPES. He debuted on the dubstep record label and tastemaker’s third compilation, ‘DUPLOC BLXCK TAPES 3.0,’ in January, starting the year on an amazing note. Since then, he has dropped two singles and one other EP, ‘Spacecraft.’

The EP begins with “Zion,” a heavy dubstep track that leans into simplicity with a prominent bassline. The first song sets listeners up for the next three, keeping a similar style throughout the record. The mid-tempo track, “Paranormal,” is full of wubs with a simple drum pattern and low-frequency synths that go into the title track, “Are U Mad.”

“Are U Mad” takes it one step further, pulling in even deeper bass and funky sounds. “Game Over” ends the EP on a toned-back melodic note with vibrational resonance. Altogether, ‘Are U Mad’ shows off the artist’s talents in creating dimensional tracks that sound effortless.

“To me, this EP is more than just the tunes it’s made of. It represents the fulfillment of a dream that at one time seemed unattainable. I couldn’t be more proud to have reached such a goal,” Mikrodot said about his release.

With an educational background in music production, Mikrodot creates genuine music that stays true to him as an artist. He created his own label, High Vibration Audio, in 2020, five years after releasing his first single. His label and own creations push boundaries with dubstep-oriented sound. Working with DUPLOC and BLXCK TAPES is helping push his music into the scene and still giving him space to play off of his distinct sound.

The Midwestern artist is highlighting bass and beats through his newest EP. Mikrodot’s latest drop, ‘Are U Mad,’ is now available to listen to on all streaming platforms.
