Printworks London Shares Final Lineup Schedule Ahead of Closure

Landmark London nightclub Printworks has revealed the lineup for its farewell weekend at the end of April.

In the six years since opening, Printworks became one of the hottest nightclubs in the UK. Located in South London’s Rotherhithe district, the venue was known for a unique aesthetic that fused the old with the new. The building was once the largest printing factory in all of Western Europe, and despite transforming into a party destination, its artifacts have remained intact and in place.

Two years ago, unfortunately, the owners of the site announced plans to redevelop the site and turn it into office buildings. For that reason, Printworks is hosting its final season of music showcases and will subsequently close its door this year. The lineup for their Closing Weekend has just been announced and is listed below.

April 28–30 will feature a stacked roster of live performers to give the cultural wonder a deserving sendoff. In addition to artists such as Black Coffee, Camelphat and Adriatique scheduled to take the stage, the final night lists a “Very Special Guest TBA” atop the lineup. Fans of Printworks are gearing up to end its historic run on a high it’s guaranteed to be a memorable night.

Tickets went on sale yesterday and have already sold out. This comes as no surprise considering how loyal a crowd Printworks bred in its few years of operation. The building and its atmosphere hold a special place in the EDM Hall of Fame, and the community is coming together for one last hurrah! Read the farewell statement released by the venue below.

Formerly the Harmsworth Quays printing plant, the Printworks building was where multiple major newspapers such as the Daily Mail and Evening Standard took on their final form till 2012. Two noteworthy organizations resided in that same space, which is why the music world is especially upset at the new plans.

The industrial site will most likely not retain its rustic elements such as the van loading dock and metal stairs once it turns into an office. With less than two months before Printworks calls it a day, live-music junkies are trying to make the most of the time they have left with the venue. It was truly magical while it lasted.
