Belgian techno queen Charlotte de Witte proudly announced the launch of her new soy sauce brand, Tears of Soy.

As if being an award-winning DJ and label owner isn’t enough, Charlotte de Witte is adding entrepreneur and food connoisseur to the list. This month, the Belgian artist launched a custom soy sauce brand in collaboration with Netherlands-based company Tomasu. The new venture will undoubtedly spice up the food industry with its specially-curated blend of flavors and ingredients.

De Witte, the first female to close Tomorrowland’s mainstage, has always had a passion for food and experimenting with flavors. “People who know me well know I have a slight addiction for soy sauce,” she joked in a recent interview. Furthermore, de Witte noted that the intention behind the hop-based soy sauce was to make homage to “Belgian beer culture” and her heritage.

Tomasu, known for its traditional Japanese brewing methods and high-quality ingredients, agreed to bring Charlotte de Witte’s vision to life. The new soy sauce will be a blend of the Tomasu brand’s established techniques and De Witte’s funky spin. Undoubtedly, this partnership will surely bring a one-of-a-kind product to fruition that can elevate any dish.

Tears of Soy is a limited-edition collection between the Rotterdam micro-brewery Tomasu and de Witte. The soy sauce will have a rich umami flavor balanced with hoppy-ness, a combination fit to spice up any dish. Given de Witte’s undeniable zest for life and infectious energy, there’s no way that this product won’t be a hit.

Charlotte de Witte’s love for food and adoration of her roots show through magnificently in her new soy sauce brand and will surely be a perfect addition to any kitchen.  The new soy sauce will be available for purchase online and in select retailers across the Netherlands and Belgium. Hopefully, those of us in the States will be lucky enough to experience de Witte’s latest creation soon enough.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now, I am finishing up law school and hope to merge my passions by working in the music industry. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list items to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and ADE in the Netherlands. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Kevin de Vries, Eli Brown, and John Summit.
