Ashe Cancels International Tour and Festival Bookings to Address Her Mental Health

Ashe addresses mental health with important news about her 2023 tour and festival bookings.

The 29-year-old singer/songwriter Ashe known for her tracks in both indie folk and electro-pop music spaces took to social media a few days ago to break her recent silence. Ashe addresses mental health in the post. Intersecting with the EDM scene, many dance music fans may know her from her feature on Louis the Child‘s track “Right To It.”

Ashe graciously took to Instagram to announce that “with a heavy heart, I have decided to cancel all shows this year.” This includes her Fun While It Lasted Europe/UK & North America tour, appearance at M3F Festival, and all other music festivals. On her Twitter, she wrote that “tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.”

Ashe explained that time needs to be taken for her mental health: “In forcing myself to take a break this last month, I have unintentionally uncovered a host of struggles and wounds I’ve not given myself time to address in the past.” Stars such as Dove Cameron and Stephen Sanchez took to the comments to show their support for Ashe prioritizing her mental health.

As mental health has become less stigmatized, and self-care has become more recognized, amongst our culture in recent years, it has also become more understandable for entertainers to step back from the spotlight in times of personal need. Ashe wrote: “After nearly three years without stopping, I no longer feel mentally healthy or resilient enough to go back on tour yet.”

Ashe’s past few years have been busy; her single “Moral of the Story” reached new records in 2020, she released her debut album ‘Ashlyn’ in 2021, and she released her sophomore album ‘Rae’ in 2022. While we enjoy these releases and her music significantly, it is also understood that new releases or performances from her in 2023 wouldn’t be in full Ashe spirit if she is not feeling her best.

Ashe thanks her fans for their empathy and patience: “Thank you for caring and the time to regroup and heal ❤️ I love you, Ashlyn.” We support Ashe, commend her for doing what she needs for her health and well-being, and send her love; we’ll be around in 2024 or whenever she is ready to return to the stage.
