Kannibalen Records Celebrates Holidays with Stacked Bass Compilation

Montreal-based Dubstep record company Kannibalen Records fully released a new “All I Want For Christmas Is Bass” volume 6 compilation on Dec. 21.

“All I Want For Christmas Is Bass” volume 6 comes with nine “gifts” from producers across the world. The nine mixes include mostly Dubstep with one Bass House mix. Kannibalen promises to “bring the heat for listeners whether they’ve been naughty or nice this year.”

The artists included in this year’s compilation are Hairitage, Slippy, HVDES x Avance, RUVLO, Izzy Vadim, Kartypartyy x Tekniicolor, INHUMANE x YMIIR, WODD x FREAKY, and BLVCKSMITH. There were two mixes released early including “Demons Are Like Dogs” on Dec. 14th and “Outcast” on Dec. 16. The first-ever “All I Want For Christmas Is Bass” volume was released in 2016.

The Christmas Dubstep-inspired compilation starts with “Right to Kill” which is a hybrid anthem by Hairitage, next is a genre-bending masterpiece by Slippy, “Mesmer.” “Demons Are Like Dogs” with HVDES and Avance gives a softer sound but still has filthy “wubs.” “Raise Hell” with RUVLO starts with progressive Dubstep and leads into a pouncing drop.

“Thank You” with Izzy Vadim starts instrumental with guitar and drums sounds which glide into a voiceover that says, “thank you, thank you, thank you, and f*** you” and then a drop. FREAKY and Kartypartyy joined volume 6 to bring the twist of Bass House with their “Rush It” mix. “Outcast” with INHUMAN and YMIR slows it down, but still hits hard with some funky sounds.

WODD and FREAKY brought an overall twist to the compilation with a “dancey” Bass House/Dubstep sound that interchanges throughout the whole mix. Last but not least is “Desert Nights” with BLVCKSMITH which starts with a trippy Indian-like sound that leads into dirty drops.

RUVLO, Izzy Vadim, BLVCKSMITH, HVDES, Avance, YMIR, INHUMAN, and WODD have all made a return from past volumes, while FREAKY, Kartypartyy, and Tekniicolor are the newcomers this year. Kannibalen Records works with big names like Black Tiger Sex Machine, Apashe, and Dabin & Kai Wachi.
