Gordo Partners with RAICES for Family Reunification and Support for Unaccompanied Minors

Gordo continues to show his humanitarian efforts by partnering up with RAICES.

On December 23, Gordo tweeted that he has partnered up with RAICES (Refugee Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services). RAICES is a non-profit that provides free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.

The tweet said, “In partnership with RAICES, Gordo has advocated for family reunification of nearly 25,000 unaccompanied children, equipped over 1,000 children with backpacks and school supplies and opened 10,000 cases that server unaccompanied children in government shelters.”

This is not the first time that Gordo has given back in a big way. Back in 2014, he built his first school in Guatemala, the country where he was born in. In an Instagram post, he said “Growing up in Guatemala. I saw things that most Americans never see in their lifetime on a daily basis. Actually living and seeing these tragedies in front of you makes a huge difference.” He continued “I see myself in these local Guatemalan kids – who have a whole life to live but are held back because of their unfortunate lifestyle.”

As promised, Gordo is in the process of building another learning center “Edeficio Taraka” in Nuevo Edén, Guatemala. The Guatemalan DJ has partnered up with Seeds of Learning to make this project come to fruition. In the Instagram post, he mentioned he will be in attendance at the opening day sometime in 2023.

Finally, as Gordo begins to end the year after a long list of memorable shows under his belt and new projects in the works, he’s gearing up for his final show of the year. On New Year’s Eve, Gordo will be performing at the Brooklyn Hangar in New York with support from Golden Pony, and Papyon.

This is a Gordo celebration you do not want to miss so get your tickets while they last!

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
