EDC Orlando Moves Forward Despite Hurricane Nicole Obstacles

Unforeseen Hurricane Nicole may affect EDC Orlando this weekend, in turn, they’ve issued a  weather warning alerting festival goers.   

EDC Orlando issues a weather update days before the festivities in light of the sudden possible impact of Hurricane Nicole. This time of the year from mid-August to mid-October is historically the most active time of the year for hurricanes in Florida. June 1st till the end of November begins the Atlantic hurricane season. 

Earlier this week on Monday, June 7th EDC Orlando tweeted about the developing weather conditions. Informing headliners and attendees of the impending forecast. Of course, everyone’s safety is the top priority. “Update for this weekend! We’re so excited to dance with you all soon.,” captioned their post. 

The possibility of dancing in the rain seems enchanting to some but other concerns have risen. “My flight got canceled to n from Orlando,” tweeted an attendee. According to FlightAware, Orlando International Airport had more than 900 flights canceled on Wednesday. Subsequently, the airport announced its closure that same day until Thursday, November 10th at 8 pm EST.  

Since then Nicole has weakened from a hurricane to a tropical storm. The organizers remain positive as damages are being assessed at Tinker Field. In addition, ECD Orlando recently updated the will-call hours on Thursday, November 10th. Specifically, to accommodate festival goers by extending the time to later in the evening. 

The following morning on Friday, November 11th, EDC Orlando announced an entrance update due to the impact of Tropical Storm Nicole. “Thank you to the amazing Insomniac crew for bringing EDC Orlando to life after Nicole crashed our party a little early. All Are Welcome Here! ?️?,” captioned their tweet. The festival’s setup was affected with scattered remnants, signage, and tents disheveled throughout the field.  

Despite everything festival enthusiasts are excited to take part In the magic of EDC Orlando.  Attendees are being directed to enter through their south entrance. The iconic festival is a staple in the dance world community, originating in 2011. With over 100 artists playing at EDC Orlando, this will be a weekend to remember.
